This church was built in the eleventh century within the ruins of three Republican era temples dedicated to the two­faced god, Janus, to the goddess Juno, and to Spes (Hope)

Three of many temples in the area, they overlooked the city's fruit and vegetable market, the Forum Holitarium, You can still see the columns embedded in the wall ..
