Santa Sabina Church in
rome -Information about Santa Sabina
Santa Sabina Church in rome
Santa Sabina was restored to almost its original
appearance in 1936.
Built
over an earlier tituius, it has a high nave with
huge, elegant columns supporting an arcade.
The
floor is original, as are the wooden doors carved
with scenes from the New Testament, including one of
the earliest renderings of the crucifixion.
There is also a pleasant, simple cloister. If it is
closed, ask the Sacristan to let you in.
