Santi Bonifacio e Alessio Church
Inside this church is an eighteenth century
chapel incorporating part of a wooden
staircase under which the early Christian saint,
Alexis, lived for 17 years. He fled to the
Holy Land to' escape an ananged multiage, and ret
lulled years later disguised as a beggar.
Unrecognized, he asked his father for hospitality
and lived under the staircase, only revealing his
identity on his death bed.
